I live in Wisconsin, graduated last year, spent my first year substituting. I’ve had a few interviews, but no offer so far. I’m especially depressed right now because I just had an interview that I was super excited about (good grade/subject, great school district, good location) and they were going to let me know today if I was chosen, so I really got my hopes up.
I didn’t get it.
They said I interviewed really well and that I was one of their top choices, but in the end they had to go with who had the most experience. How am I ever going to get experience when no one will hire me???? So frustrated…is this partly the state of Wisonsin’s fault with all the budget cuts? Am I not a capable enough teacher? Are my capabilities not coming through in my interviews? I CAN’T go through with another year of substituting! I need my own classroom!
